Images with the Philips ToUcam Pro II - 840K
Webcam

The
evening these were captured there were thin high clouds so I opted to try
imaging without the IR filter. I did not do any that night with the filter
for comparison.
Focal length was 7820mm @ F/22 - Basically C14 with TV 2x Big Barlow
Seeing was about 7/10 or so
This one below done at 320x240 [default setting on this webcam]

Smart Sharpen in CS2 applied and 80A cooling filter 10%
*Seelinger effect was taking place during this time of Feb. with the planet.
As Saturn passes through opposition during the evening of Feb.10th, the effect
should be most visable. It is a relative brightening of the rings relative
to the disk
when the sun is directly behind the observer as happens at opposition.
At
this time each particle in the ring system presents a fully illuminated face
to the
observer with its shadow away from us and the particles, and so the rings
will appear
as bright as they can be. When sunlight strikes them from the side, the the
particles will
drop shadows on others and the overall brightness will not be as pronounced.
The
image above is the best effort so far with RegiStax 4 and Photoshop CS2
I still have more to process and maybe I'll get lucky and improve on this
latest one.
Thanks for visiting!
