Nikon D3 - Astrophotography Page

Nikon D3 with 28-70mm F2.8 lens @ 28mm @ F4, ISO 800 - 5min exposure, 14bit raw file, processed w/ACR in CS3
Taken from LAAS club site in Lockwood Valley, California. Camera was piggybacked on Celestron C14. Exposure was unguided.
Jupiter is the brightest object in the frame. Yellow sky is light pollution from Los Angeles.

2009, spring-summer / planning on doing telephoto piggyback astrophotography
with several telephoto lenses,
in addition to further imaging with my wide lenses.
